Social media commentator Ojaigho Prosper, popularly known as GehGeh, has criticised Nigerian comedian Anita Asuoha, better known as Real Warri Pikin, following the controversy surrounding her appearance on stage with singer Timaya.
The controversy began after a video from the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, United States, went viral.
In the footage, Real Warri Pikin joined Timaya on stage while he was performing his hit song, Ukwu. The singer was later seen lifting the comedian during the performance.
The incident generated reactions online, with some social media users questioning the interaction, particularly because Real Warri Pikin is married.
Following the backlash, the comedian apologised to her husband, Ikechukwu, as well as those who were uncomfortable with the incident.
Real Warri Pikin explained that she had been backstage watching Timaya’s performance when he invited a woman to join him on stage. She said she did not know beforehand that he intended to lift her.
According to her account, she initially resisted when Timaya attempted to lift her but eventually went along with the moment after he urged her not to disrupt his performance. She also acknowledged that her husband was unhappy about what happened.
However, the comedian later released another video responding to continued criticism.
In the video, Real Warri Pikin defended her decision to participate in the stage performance, saying she had done it “with my full chest.” She also described herself as an entertainer and referred to the stage as her “shrine.”
Her second response attracted the attention of GehGeh, who questioned why she returned to the controversy after already apologising.
GehGeh argued that the comedian’s response could be interpreted as an attack on her husband’s ego. He also criticised her decision to continue addressing the matter publicly after issuing an apology.
The controversy comes shortly after Real Warri Pikin celebrated a major achievement at the AFRIMMA ceremony, where she won the Best Stand-Up Comedian award.
The award placed her ahead of several notable comedians, but the viral interaction with Timaya subsequently became a major subject of discussion online.
As of the latest report, Timaya has not issued a detailed public response to the criticism surrounding the performance.
The debate continues to play out largely on social media, with discussions focusing on the stage incident, Real Warri Pikin’s subsequent response and GehGeh’s criticism.
