Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly directed his supporters to vote for candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across all levels in the 2027 general elections.
The directive was disclosed by the party’s North-West Zonal Vice Chairman, Hafsat Baba, during a coalition meeting of support groups loyal to the former governor in Kaduna State.
According to Baba, El-Rufai urged his supporters to remain united, peaceful and law-abiding while mobilising support for the ADC ahead of the elections.
She explained that the directive covers the presidential, governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections across Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas.
Baba also revealed that the coalition plans to establish a database of El-Rufai’s supporters across the state and maintain regular engagements to strengthen its political mobilisation efforts.
The ADC chieftain further expressed concern over insecurity in parts of Kaduna State, particularly Birnin Gwari, Giwa and Millennium City, calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect residents.
She also alleged that more than 30 supporters of the former governor had been arrested about two weeks before the meeting, urging security agencies to remain impartial and uphold the Constitution.
The development comes as political parties and their supporters intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
