The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has explained how Nigerians can download their National Identification Number (NIN) slips online at no cost through its NINAuth mobile application.
The commission demonstrated the process in a video shared on its official X account, allowing NIN holders to obtain the document without visiting an enrolment centre or paying third-party agents.
To download the slip, users are required to:
- Download the NINAuth application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Open the application and select “Do More with NINAuth.”
- Choose “NIN Slip” from the available options.
- Complete the facial authentication process to verify their identity.
- Select “Download NIN Slip” to save the document to their mobile phones.
NIMC said successful authentication would allow users to download their official slips directly from the application.
The commission explained that the downloaded document is the same official NIN slip issued by the agency and can be used at banks, government offices and other institutions where it is required.
The free service is part of NIMC’s efforts to improve access to identity services, reduce physical visits to enrolment centres and limit dependence on intermediaries.
NINAuth users are advised to update their applications to the latest version to access the feature.
