Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has made UEFA Champions League history after becoming the competition’s highest-scoring teenager, surpassing the previous record held by Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé.
The 19-year-old Spain international achieved the milestone on Tuesday, November 3, during Barcelona’s 3–0 victory over Aston Villa at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Yamal opened the scoring in the seventh minute after capitalising on a defensive error before curling the ball past Aston Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.
The goal took his Champions League tally to 14, moving him ahead of Mbappé, who previously held the record with 13 goals before turning 20.
Remarkably, Yamal reached the milestone in just 37 appearances in the competition, further strengthening his growing reputation as one of European football’s brightest young talents.
According to UEFA statistics, the Barcelona winger also holds several other Champions League records, including being the youngest player to start a match in the competition and the youngest to score in a semi-final.
