The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Hon. Noah Dallaji, has promised to institutionalise regular consultation with constituents as part of his proposed approach to legislative representation.

Dallaji made the pledge on Wednesday at a campaign rally in Dajin, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, where he said communities should have continuous access to their elected representative rather than engage with them only during election periods.

He said his proposed model would create regular channels for communities, youth groups, women, farmers, traditional institutions, professionals and religious leaders to present their concerns and participate in discussions on development priorities.

“Representation must not end with elections. It must begin with elections. The people deserve a representative they can reach, speak to, question and hold accountable,” he said.

Dallaji said constituency concerns would, under his proposed system, be documented and followed up with relevant federal ministries, departments and agencies, with feedback communicated to the affected communities.

He described public office as a trust that requires transparency and accountability, adding that legislative representation should be assessed by the extent to which constituents’ concerns are identified, pursued and addressed.

The APM candidate further listed education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, employment, social welfare and economic opportunities among the areas he intends to prioritise if elected.

He urged residents of Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa to remain actively involved in the democratic process and called for their support for the APM in the forthcoming general election.

“My commitment is to make representation work for the people and to ensure that the voice of every community matters,” Dallaji said.
