A new business strategy book, Conquest: The Ultimate Blueprint for Market Domination and Business Growth, was unveiled in Abuja on Friday with a strong message to entrepreneurs: lasting business success is achieved by winning people’s hearts before pursuing market dominance.

The launch attracted business owners, marketers, corporate executives and industry leaders for what organisers described as both a book unveiling and an intensive business masterclass designed to equip entrepreneurs with practical strategies for building customer-centred brands.

Author of the book, Ukwa Nkem Robert, said Conquest was written to bridge the gap between business theory and practical execution, drawing from more than a decade of consulting, mentoring and training entrepreneurs.

According to him, businesses that prioritise relationships, trust and value creation will always outperform those driven solely by products and profits.

“The greatest conquest in business is not your competitors; it is the hearts of the people you were created to serve. Once people trust your brand and believe in your vision, the market naturally opens up,” Robert said.

He explained that the book provides practical frameworks for entrepreneurs seeking answers to one of business’s biggest questions: how to successfully enter and dominate a marketplace.

Robert urged business owners to embrace strategic leadership, innovation and consistency, stressing that sustainable growth is built over time through deliberate actions rather than shortcuts.

The keynote message resonated with participants, including marketing strategist and public communication leader Daniela Ukwa, who described the book as a practical guide rooted in proven experience rather than theory.

“To conquer a marketplace, you must first go for the heart of the people your product and your institution were built to serve. Win the heart, and the market follows,” she said.

Ukwa disclosed that she had worked closely with the author for over 12 years and had witnessed the principles outlined in the book produce measurable results across fashion, business and other sectors.

She said the masterclass challenged entrepreneurs to focus first on identifying the people they serve before thinking about the products they intend to sell.

“Businesses must begin with the ‘who’ before the ‘what’. For those who were not able to attend today’s session, all the principles and frameworks shared during the masterclass are captured in The Conquest,” she added.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Fashion Academy Abuja, Nina Yusuf Kwande, described the launch as inspiring and relevant to entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.

“I know this person even beyond the book, so I can only imagine the amazing things that will come out of this book launch. So far, it’s been great,” she said.

Kwande praised the author’s teaching style, saying the lessons presented during the masterclass transcend business and can be applied to everyday life.

“He’s giving a masterclass that is going to help each and every one of us. He always speaks from the point of view where you can apply whatever you are learning to any business or anything that you are doing in life. I’m really blessed and happy to be here,” she said.

She also advised young entrepreneurs, particularly members of Generation Z, to remain patient and committed to developing their skills despite the growing culture of seeking instant success.

“Everything still needs patience and everything has its time. There’s a time for planting, a time where you have to wait and a time for harvest. Nothing just happens overnight, not even with all the internet advice,” she said.

Encouraging young people to trust the process, she concluded: “The reality is everything takes time. Gen Zs, you have to play the waiting game. You have to hone your craft, be patient, and remember that all good things come to those who plant.”

Beyond unveiling the book, participants described the event as an interactive learning experience that provided actionable insights into leadership, marketing, branding and sustainable business growth, positioning Conquest as a practical resource for entrepreneurs seeking to build enduring businesses in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
