President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has said Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms are beginning to restore investor confidence and create a more favourable environment for businesses to expand.
Dangote said the Federal Government’s fiscal, monetary and regulatory measures were contributing to improved macroeconomic stability, stronger economic activity and increased interest from investors.
According to the business mogul, the emerging improvements show the importance of maintaining consistent and market-oriented policies as Nigeria seeks to achieve sustainable economic growth.
“The economic reforms being implemented by the Federal Government are beginning to yield tangible results,” Dangote said, noting that businesses are experiencing stronger confidence and a more resilient operating environment.
Reforms creating room for industrial growth
Dangote said the changing policy environment was particularly important for large-scale manufacturing and industrial businesses, which he described as critical to Nigeria’s economic diversification, job creation, foreign exchange generation and competitiveness.
He commended the government for pursuing measures aimed at improving efficiency, strengthening transparency, supporting domestic production and encouraging investment.
While acknowledging that economic reforms can create difficulties during their initial implementation, Dangote said the benefits were becoming increasingly visible through improved business confidence and renewed investor interest.
Dangote refinery benefiting from policy environment
The industrialist also pointed to the performance of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex as an example of how a supportive policy environment can encourage large-scale investment.
He said policies aimed at increasing domestic refining capacity, reducing dependence on imported petroleum products, strengthening energy security and promoting local value addition had contributed to the refinery’s development.
According to Dangote, the refinery’s growing production capacity and expanding export activities are helping Nigeria generate foreign exchange, create jobs and strengthen local supply chains.
He said the refinery, petrochemical operations and fertiliser business form part of Dangote Industries’ wider contribution to Nigeria’s industrial development.
Dangote pledges continued investment
Dangote Industries Limited, he said, would continue investing in strategic sectors while supporting innovation, industrial development and employment creation.
He stressed that sustained cooperation between government and the private sector would be necessary to attract more foreign direct investment and strengthen Nigeria’s position as an investment destination.
“Nigeria is on the path to becoming one of the world’s leading industrial and economic powers,” Dangote said, adding that policy consistency, private-sector participation and investment-led growth would be critical to achieving that ambition.
Dangote’s comments come amid broader claims from government officials and business stakeholders that recent economic reforms are beginning to improve investor sentiment and strengthen the Nigerian economy. However, the long-term impact of the reforms will depend on continued implementation and whether improved macroeconomic conditions translate into stronger outcomes for businesses and households.
